Erie gives gamers the chance to travel back in time to 1966 and investigate an incident that takes place in a power generator. The cause of the incident and its exact nature are shrouded in mystery and players are tasked with getting to the bottom of this mystery and saving any survivors along the way.

The game’s storyline serves as a fitting introduction to what proves to be a truly hair raising game. The creepy music and sound effects help to create a spooky atmosphere that is sure to keep players on the edge of their seats. The scares come just when you least expect them and there is plenty here to keep the adrenaline pumping.

Erie is visually stunning and all of the locations are created in plenty of detail. There are also lots of imaginative touches to the game that help add to the atmosphere and really make the game stand out. Although the missions and tasks that players have to complete in the game are not really anything new, the way in which they are represented and the unusual take on things helps to make Erie feel fresh and exciting.

The controls are very easy to get to grips with and gamers should be able to understand almost straight away what they need to do and how to go about it. the blur effect that comes into play when your character runs is very convincing and helps give the game a sense of urgency that helps to make it even more terrifying.

With its high gore factor and plenty of scary moments, Erie is not a game for the faint of heart.
